Best Life Medical Centre currently bulk bills all standard consults for Medicare card holders, if you do not hold a Medicare Card please be aware there will be a $70.00 fee for a standard consult.
Depending on circumstances, a home visit may be organised for existing patients who are unable to attend the surgery. Please call the friendly reception team to discuss a home visit with your usual GP.
The clinic registered with HotDoc to offer reminders for pap smears, repeat tests, health assessments, etc. Please advise your doctor if you do not wish to receive these.
Patients are responsible for making a follow up appointment after having a blood test, x-ray or other test. If the doctor does require to see you following a test one of the nurses/receptionists will call and advise you to make a follow up appointment in a time frame specified by the doctor.
Outside of normal practice hours, the clinic encourages patients to call the Hello Home Doctor on 13 41 00 who will provide house calls on weekends and public holidays. IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY ALWAYS CALL 000.

The clinic runs on an appointment-based system; however, the system has appointments reserved for on the day to ensure ample availability for all patients. Please advise the reception team when booking an appointment if you require an interpreter.
You can call and leave a message for your doctor during surgery hours. Emergency calls will be triaged by the Practice Nurse. If you require a translator we can arrange that for you through the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450.
In order to provide quality care and maintain accessibility to all our patients we require at least 3 hours’ notice for all cancellations. The clinic keep record of all late cancellations & missed appointments.
If two appointment are missed, a non-attendance and cancellation fee of $35 will be generated that is to be paid before your next appointment. If a third appointment is missed or not cancelled appropriately, an account will be generated, and you will be informed of possible suspension to services in our clinic until all accounts are paid. There may also be the possibility of permanent suspension from the practice at the Doctors’ discretion for repeat offenders.
Some appointments may not be able to be claimed back from Medicare or private health insurances and are a private practice fee.
“Your medical records are confidential documents.” It is always the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information and to ensure
that the information is only available to authorised members of staff. Best Life Medical Centre use this information you provide to manage your personal health care. The clinic generally disclose selected information to various health services involved in supporting, your health care management (e.g. pathology, radiology). If you have any questions regarding how we handle your personal health information or need to arrange access to you records, please ask the Practice Manager or your doctor, as appropriate.
